philatiger Posted May 13, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2012 We have only done one cruise with RCI. We are booked in a D1 1700, but now looking at the bump outs on deck 8 cat E2. Trying to decide if 1700 is worth the extra 300.00. Pros for E2: midship and cost... Pros for D1: Larger cabin and balcony but aft. has anyone stayed in both that could provide comments.... decision...decisions... but happy we are able to cruise...:D
Cigar King Posted May 13, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2012 What is a "bump out"? I'm going to assume you mean the hump cabins. For my money, I don't care. The aft balconies are usually larger and that's nice. I don't think you can lose either way. Enjoy your cruise.
cb at sea Posted May 13, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 13, 2012 Lots of folks LOVE the aft cabins...the balconies are much larger than a standard side balcony of ANY catagory. The "hump" area is so convenient, and we prefer that, but I'd rather have more cabin space, to be honest! Whether an increase in cost is worth it...only you can say! gcvt Posted May 13, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 13, 2012 Hard to beat the size of the balcony and cabin when you're looking at 1400 and 1700! We were in 1400 in January and it was fantastic. Plus, with all the suites nearby, you're likely to get a more experienced stateroom attendant.
vickiw0318 Posted May 13, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 13, 2012 It is soooo worth the extra cost!!!!! The walk back to 1700 is not that bad.
