shuttle bus in Mumbai

Can anyone tell me if Azamara has a shuttle bus in the port of Mumbai?

There was no Mumbai shuttle when we were there on the Quest in 2010. Taxis were available from outside the port.

Hi,

 

Azamara supplied a shuttle from the airport to the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai and from the hotel to the ship the following morning.

 

To get the airport transfer, they usually insist you book the hotel through them (Azamara) but after discussions, they agreed to give us the free transfer if we booked ourselves into their specified hotel which was the TM. It was cheaper to book the hotel online, and wonderful to find a friendly man with an Azamara sign and a list with our names on it when we finally got out of Mumbai airport!

I would not rely on getting a taxi from the airport. There are plenty there of varying sorts but they looked sooo tiny we would probably have had to tie some of our luggage on the roof rack. There is a funny story on this on another board on this site. I would suggest you either get an Azamara transfer or organise one yourself if flight times don't suit. If you stay at the TM, the hotel will organise a personal transfer of a car (a corolla they quoted me) and a driver for a cost which is not too bad. Also the traffic is quite bad and chaotic even late at night, and it is a long drive. Our shuttle bus went through many red lights! I think it would be very scary in one of the tiny taxis.

Although several years ago, I arranged with the hotel (Taj Mahal) for a 'limousine' to collect us from the airport. A very nice man was waiting with a sign with our names on and proceeded to take us to the limo. It was a tiny old Ford Escort!!!

 

PS the hotel was fab.
