A question about Guarantee please

Hi. We are currently booked on the Oasis...did the Neighborhood Guarantee, got assigned a very well located cabin.

 

As the cruise gets closer, we are starting to think maybe we want to try to upgrade to an oceanview. There only appears to be a couple of regular oceanview balconies left (not well located), and many more large balconies.

 

1) Do you think they will let us upgrade our existing cabin to an Oceanview Guarantee or will we have to upgrade to a specific cabin?

 

2) If we do upgrade to an ocean guarantee...is it more likely we will be assigned to one of the remaining regular ones, or is there a decent chance we would get a large balcony since there are more of them?

 

Any thoughts would be appreciated....thanks!!

1) Yes. BUT, there's a catch. You'll pay the difference in price between what you've already paid and what the Oceanview Guarantee is going for. (Meaning that they won't look at your current cabin's price online and figure that into the equation.)

 

2) Seems to work both ways according to other posters. There are many multi-faceted algorithms that are used to book cabins, change prices, etc.

Thank you. I suppose I should have assumed they only give credit for what you paid (guarantee price)...makes sense. There only appear to be a couple of regular balconies left and like 15 or 16 large balconies...if they really show you everything that is available...the the regulars are poorly located.

 

I have no idea what to do!!
