Shuttle or car service from port to Houston airport?

We are thinking of cruising next Easter out of Galveston. But our son and grandsons live in San Antonio. We are thinking of flying into San Antonio a few days before and renting a car for those days and driving it to Galveston for the cruise. Instead of paying for a weeks rental and parking, after the cruise we would like to get transportation to the closest Houston airport from the port. Is it doable? We did something like this a few years back but I can't remember what we did.
