Matisse Museum in Nice-Open or Closed?

We will be in Monte Carlo in late June and intend to go over to Nice for the day. I have seen reports in the Rick Steves newsletter and at least one post somewhere that the Matisse Museum is or will be closed for renovations. I do not see anything on the museum website to that effect. I wrote an email to the museum but they have not responded. Is there anyone in Nice who can confirm or deny this information?

My question exactly, and can't find out if the museum will close soon. I also sent them an email and got no answer. I read on Trip Advisor that it IS closing soon but do not know when. You could check that site. Or have you already been in Nice? The museum site gives no clue.

If you have info, please post here. My whole trip to Nice was planned around the museum.

I assume it is open as they have a temporary exhibit from June 23 thru Sept 23. It doesn't have anything about being closed on their website. Nice is a great city, alot to do and very easy to get around.

That would be strange - it was closed for about a year for major renovations about 5 years ago. Could you be bringing up some old links in your searches about the museum? Just about every link back then warned about it being closed.
