X-stream offers kids cave tubing. Has anyone used it?

You mean I gotta wait this long until we sail?

We did the X-stream cave tubing just last Thursday. Although there were no kids with our group there were two elderly women who needed some help. To start the excursion you have about a 40 minute walk on a sometimes rocky path to the point where you get into the river. You have to cross the river, using a rope to hold on to, and use some stairs on the walk. You also have to carry a large inner tube. It was very hot and humid. It is the dry season so the river was low and several times we were scraping the rocky bottom and had to walk, carring the tubes. The river was running slow so we had to paddle with our arms the whole way. So if your kids are big enough to carry a tube a couple of miles and paddle with their arms for a couple of miles, then take them.

All that being said, we had a great time. Thomas, owner and guide, was great. He prepared fresh pinapple, mango, water melon and bannanas for a snack when we returned. On the excursion he pointed out bats in a cave, different types of trees, and several cave formations. We had 1 guide and 10 people where as the ships tours have 50 people and 2 guides, so we got alot more individual attention.

I highly recommend X-stream cave tubing for anyone who wants to do the cave tubing excursion in Belize.
