How far to Maho Beach?

How far is it from the port to Maho Beach? Is one hour long enough to allow to get to the ship in the afternoon? Thanks!

Not always. The traffic is terrible in the afternoon when everyone is getting out of work and school. I believe there is also an issue with a bridge that could tie up traffic. Plan carefully.

There is a drawbridge at the Simpson Bay lagoon which opens several times a day for yacht traffic. Depends on the time of the year as to the # of openings.

 

Last year, when there was a lot of construction in the area it took 2+ hours to get back to the pier from Maho. If it is bad and we have a rental car we loop North past Marigot, Grand Case and down the East Coast past Orient to the pier, that is a 60-70 minute trip. We know the island tho.
