Nymue Posted June 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2012 Greetings ~ We sailed on the Celebrity Galaxy years ago out of Baltimore and loved it. However it was our one & only Celebrity cruise. My husband and I became addicted to cruising after that and Princess is the line we go with the most. My step-son, who I adore, is getting married next spring. They took a cruise 2 months ago on the Celebrity Summit and loved it. They have decided they want to get married on a cruise....that same one! So next March we'll be sailing on the Summit. So....questions, questions, qustions.... ~ What is Celebritys' policy in regard to smoking on balconys? ~ Can you order from the dining room menu for room service? ~ How do they handle Muster Drill, inside or outside? (I ask because I'm disabled, mobility can be an issue me as well as my husbands exwife) ~ What catagory stateroom on Celebrity would compare to a mini-suite on other lines? Thanks in advance Anne

There will be outside areas available. ~ Can you order from the dining room menu for room service? Sure can, during dining room hours ~ How do they handle Muster Drill, inside or outside? (I ask because I'm disabled, mobility can be an issue me as well as my husbands exwife) The last cruises we have been on the Muster Drill was inside at your Muster Station (no lifejackets req'd) ~ What catagory stateroom on Celebrity would compare to a mini-suite on other lines? Not sure - maybe a Sky Suite:confused: Thanks in advance Anne Hope this helps!
Waihekean Posted June 2, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 2, 2012 ~ What catagory stateroom on Celebrity would compare to a mini-suite on other lines? I have read that the balcony staterooms are compareble to the Princess mini-suite due that they all have a sofa as standard. You have to check for the exact square footage if there is much difference in between the two, but I am pretty sure that the Sky suite is larger then the mini suite. Nymue Posted June 5, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted June 5, 2012 Thank You, this was a huge help! It looks like the Concierge Class balcony is equal to Princess's Mini-Suite, based on the stateroom info on Celebrity's site. Once Again, My Thanks....Anne Hope this helps! kitty9 Posted June 5, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 5, 2012 On Summit, the Concierge Class cabins are a lot smaller than a Princess mini suite. For example, on Emerald Princess the mini suite measures 277 sqft. On Summit, the CC is only 191sqft. So, the comparable cabin that's most equal to that Princess suite is a Sky Suite on Summit, which is around 250 sqft. Celebrity has the most restrictive smoking policy. No interior smoking whatsoever and no smoking on balconies. There are just a few outdoor areas where smoking is allowed. I'm also disabled, and find the muster drill to be easy. I just make sure that I'm at the muster station at least 10 minutes before it's scheduled to start.
We're The Groupnors Posted June 5, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 5, 2012 One more difference between Princess mini-suites and Celebrity Concierge Class: Princess minis have a tub in the bathroom, but Celebrity has CC class only has showers. Tubs are only in Sky Suites or above. There are a number of cabins on the Summit that are specifically designed for disabled guests; they are wider than regular cabins, and have appropriate "hardware" in the bathrooms. Try to score one off the stern of the ship, if you can, as those ones also have enormous balconies and are great for entertaining large parties.
