Internet access on ship

I want to bring my laptop on board to upload & email pictures. I read for Carnival that they have an Internet Cafe and you can use their internet signal if you're in (or near?) the cafe, but for 75 cents a minute. Do they KNOW if you're using their signal & if so, how do they find out? I was thinking about getting as close as possible without being near the employees to try to send pictures really quick LOL Let me know if you know anything about this! thanks!

I think that even if you are bringing your own laptop you will still have the charge of 75c a minute. (nothing on a cruise is free anymore)

also conenctions are very slow so you may want to reconsider sending photos on the cruise.
