What is next to my room?

Good day,

first time cruiser, hope you can help.

Mrs Bickle and I just reserved a Feb 2013 W Carib cruise on Magic.

Right now we are booked for cabin 7454 - and here is the deck plan -

http://www.icruise.com/ships/carnival-cruises-carnival-magic-deck-plans.html

Does anyone know what the symbol next to our cabin stands for?

Did I book a cabin next to an air conditioning unit?? Or some other noise maker?

What if we upgrade to the Verandah deck? Cabin 8469 is available, but it also has some unknown (to me) symbol next to it. Is this another noisemaker?

Finally, cabin 7454 is classed as an 8B stateroom while 8469 is classed as 8C. Since the writeups for these two cabins are identical, can you explain the difference to me?

Thanks in advance,

Yes, crew stairs...no noise. These cabins are sought out because they have a balcony which is double the width of normal balconies. The difference between the 2 you're looking at is that 8469 is on a higher deck...the categories get more expensive as you go up.;)
