Beachfront Hotel in Costa Rica?

Planning on taking the Windstar Panama Canal crossing cruise this winter and want to come in a few days early to Costa Rica to spend some quality beach time with family. Any good hotel recommendations? Thanks!

Well, I ended up booking with Costa Rica Vacations and we got into Tango Mar for 5 nights before our cruise. Near enough to the ship; on the beach; swinging monkeys from the trees....what more can we ask for? :rolleyes:

That sounds lovely! We will end the cruise in Costa Rica and only can stay for one night, due to work. Wish we had more time!!!

We are ending our Panama Canal cruise in CR so we decided to spend our last day/ night at the Xandari. It gets great reviews on Trip Advisor, is near the airport and has enough going on in a resort like setting to make our last day a pleasant one. When we cruised the Costa Rica coast on Windstar 5 years ago we stayed our last two nights at Finca Rosa Blanca and loved it.

Wow - both of those hotels are wonderful! When you stayed at the Finca Rosa Blanca, did you take a taxi from Puerto Caldera or did you arrange a transfer from the hotel?

We arranged for a pick- up by Coach Costa Rica. We hired them for the day- did some sightseeing then went to a beach for lunch and also so my son could surf. At the end of the day the driver took us to the hotel. I would love to know if anyone on the boards has used Coach Costa Rica lately as it was 2007 when we used them.

I looked up Coach Costa Rica and found their website, but also cannot find any updated reviews - on here or Trip Adviser. Hope someone on here can provide some recent info.
