Transportation to Lunenburg

Recommended Posts

We rented a car and drove directly from Halifax to Lunenburg using the fast route. You will have no trouble parking and Lunenburg is a great walking town. There are great historic houses and many cute little shops to step into. Also go to the Blue Nose Shipyard and watch them build a new Blue Nose. From Lunenburg we took the lighthouse route back stopping at Mahone Bay and Peggy's Cove. We got back to Halifax with enough time to go through the shops in the terminal.

If you go back some pages, you will find maps that Marianne NS posted.

Thanks for the information. Are there lighthouses in Luneberg to see? I'm also hoping to cover the maritime museum in Halifax.

There is a nice Fisheries Museum in Lunenburg with a great restaurant attached (Fish Market) that looks out over the harbor. The Blue Nose II is being refurbished (Blue NoseI sank) and is scheduled to launch this summer Who knows when??? It is about an hour's drive to Lunenburg from Halifax on the main highway. It is a lovely town well worth the time.
