On our Oct cruise, our waiter had 36 guests to take care of. anywhere from 2, 4, to 10 at a table....

I haven't encountered a "third person system" yet. But I bet that would make for faster service so I'm all for it.:D

On the Dream we had a head waiter and two assistants. They had three tables. Two with eight people and one with ten people. I can’t remember back to when we had only two waiters for our table. I don’t think it was any faster with three waiters. 26 is a lot of drinks to refill and bread and butter to refill. They kept busy all through dinner. A good team.

On the 5/26/12 sailing of Fascination, we had 1 Head Waiter, 1 Waiter, and 1 Asst. Waiter. They had DW and I (table for 2), 2 tables of 4, and 2 tables of 8. This amounted to 26 diners, although there was only 1 night out of 5 when all ate in MDR. Surprisingly, had no issues with delays in food and/or drinks.:)
