Magic weekend cruise from NY?

Hi all so I have booked the weekend cruise on the Magic for August DH is hesistant because he says its a waste of money for 2 days I say I have never done a Disney Cruise or any other cruise and this will be I guess a taste of Disney cruise so we are going back and forth with it since we are not going to Disney this year I figured my girls who are 7 and 3 yrs old would have a blast, for those of you that have done this cruise is it worth it, and if I decide to keep it what would you absolutely do on the ship? what would you avoid restaurants, shows etc, I just want my girls to experience atleast a lil bit of it and get the most out of it since it is such a short cruise PLEASE give me your suggestions thank you so much
