OP try Princess. We did 5 Carnival and then Princess, We are going on the Destiny at the end of October so I have been reading all the reviews. We like the smaller ships and cruise for the islands so we have a balcony and relax. Carnival tends to be loud. Princess is a little more reserved and upscale. I didn't like their MDR food but the other venues were very good as was their 24 hr cafe. We went to GT and made the haul down to Jack's Shack and thought it was very over rated. The free drink was cheap whiskey and they were out of conch at 11 in the morning. Plus you have to pay for a chair. But we enjoyed the island and snorkeled. Try Princess, definitely better IMO.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review and the beautiful pictures. Sorry that so many things went wrong, hopefully that doesn't put you off cruising. Most of the things seemed to be rare, random things (the drinks spilling on your husband's head) or learning experience things first time cruisers wouldn't know about. The sci-fi western you saw was probably "Cowboys Vs. Aliens" starring James Bond himself Daniel Craig.

I would try asking on the Europe board / Italian ports Venice. You'll get better luck over there.
