IE Glitz & Glamour - Beaches

Everyone, We sailed on the IE last year and loved the cruise. We are a family with a young daughter and we enjoyed getting off the ship and going to the beach at most ports.

We are looking at Glitz and Glamour this year on 21st AUG. The itinerery is Propriano, Rome, Livorno, Cannes, Palamos.

From what i can see there are beaches at Propriano, Cannes and Palamos. Can anyone confirm this ? Also are they easy to get to from the ship?

Can also anyone advise on excursions in Cannes as we would like a few hours on the beach and maybe a whistle stop tour of the city?

Thanks

I can only comment on Palamos having been to Villefranche near Nice and not Canne, although it's on the same coastline so presumably the train will go from there as well if you like to explore. The trains are cheap and leave and arrive exactly on time.

Palamos has a lovely sandy beach and you will dock in close to the town so only about a 10 minute walk from the ship, then round to the part of the beach you want. We went back for lunch and then off again to walk around the headland to the marina, cutting back through the town for a drink at a beach bar overlooking the ship. The map from reception is worth getting. Lovely and quiet when we were there last July and a nice contrast after a busy week looking around Rome and Florence.:)

Hi! :) If you go onto the Island Escape site and click on itineraries it gives you a good idea of what to expect including the shore excursions. In Cannes there is a petit train which your daughter might enjoy. You get to see the 'red carpet' area as well as a liitle of the surrounding area.

Hope this helps.

Enjoy. Mo. :)
