Demiryem Posted July 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2012 Hi, we are interested in cave tubing, however, we aren't sure about our son. Our daughter is 6 and adventurous, so we aren't worried about her. Our son is 9 and has a chromosome disorder (he functions around a 5 year old with some autistic-like characteristics). He loves touring caverns (walking tours) but we aren't sure about cave tubing. He can't swim, likes the water but doesn't like getting his face wet. He loves hiking and being out in nature. Are the caves large (worried about him freaking out in small dark places)? completely dark? Our other option is the zoo since he loves animals. What are your thoughts? Thanks!!! No rapids for getting face wet. he's hooked on via feet to next tube. Life vest. Helmet has light. Caves are large enough that you can't touch the tops unless they guide you close. I'd venture that he'd have a blast! But the zoo could be a nice option if you're concerned. It's more a preserve/rescue operation than a typical US zoo. Demiryem Posted July 7, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted July 7, 2012 Thanks for your reply! We were watching youtube videos and I think he would love it, but then I saw that you have to be 8 years old (Coral Breeze tours). :( our daughter is 6. Maybe it will be the zoo this time and cave tubing in the future. thanks!
