CareCo Suitcase Travel Scooter vs Luggie

This scooter has just become available in the UK and only from this one supplier, as far as we can see:

DH has bought one and finds it far more comfortable than his Luggie, although the Luggie has been fantastic too but it has been damaged several times by airlines. The CareCo one is TINY (nearly small enough to be hand luggage without the case but over 10kg unfortunately) and folds down to fit in a suitcase which will hopefully protect it more. Just wondered whether anyone else has one ? If so have you had any trouble getting the suitcase through security to gate-check the scooter ?

That scooter looks like a good step up from the Luggie: a bit larger, better seat,

and apparently more stability ! Since it can be stored in the supplied suitcase -

suggest you check the scooter at regular check in with your luggage. Request

wheelchair assistance through security and to your airline gate. (provided by the airline at check-in/probably should request

in advance)

Actually it is quite a lot smaller than the Luggie and not so robust, but DH likes it because it has a padded seat and he finds it much more comfortable. I think it is more stable as it has wheels at the 4 corners but it is not as powerful. Yes I had wondered about checking it in with luggage but hoped to take it to the gate if possible, he hates using airport wheelchairs unless completely unavoidable. I think I will email round our 'regular' airlines and see what they say.
