Zeno Posted May 10, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2005 I can give you a little info on Guadeloupe (only there one day on a cruise). 1. We really liked this island - beautiful scenery and great beaches. 2. It is very French - therefore knowing at least a few words in French is useful 3. We found the people friendly but I did make an effort to use some French 4. It is shaped like a butterfly - the left wing is mountaneous and scenic - there are some good hikes there (I can only go by what others said - we had no time to do this). The right wing seems to have the best beaches. We went to Plage Ste. Anne (absolutely one of the prettiest nicestbeaches I have seen) - lovely sand, palm trees, gorgeous water - picture perfect)
