Northshorecruisers Posted July 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2012 I've posted this on the West Coast departures board as well. We are sailing Zuiderdam out of Vancouver in 2 weeks. We'd like to check in and drop our bags in our cabins, and then go walk around at Canada Place for an hour or so. Are we going to be able to just scan our card and walk back on the ship or will we need to wait in line behind people who haven't checked in yet? Thanks for your help!! dakrewser Posted July 15, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2012 If you're already checked in, then just walk on board.
CaveDiving Posted July 15, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2012 You will not need to wait for passengers who are just checking in. Scott & Karen
sail7seas Posted July 15, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2012 Same in any port on Embarkation Day. Once you have boarded and have your key card, you can come and go from the ship and do not have to wait in the check in lines but will have to go back through security check. Be sure to be back in time for Life Boat Drill.
Northshorecruisers Posted July 15, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted July 15, 2012 Will we need to go through customs again? Wondering if we will need to take our passports with.
sail7seas Posted July 15, 2012 #6 Share Posted July 15, 2012 You will need a government issued photo ID. I would bring passports.
John Cruise Posted July 15, 2012 #7 Share Posted July 15, 2012 You have to have your passport and boarding pass to get through security and US immigration again when you want to return to the Zuiderdam. Keep in mind Saturday is very busy at Canada Place, so you might want to drop off your luggage and then go for a walk before checking in to board the ship. Northshorecruisers Posted July 15, 2012 Author #8 Share Posted July 15, 2012 Thanks to everyone. I found out that after we drop our luggage at the porters there is a place we can store our carryon's for $5 a bag. We'll go walk around and then grab the carryon's before we check into the ship and go through security and customs. It will be much easier. Luckily, it looks like there are only 2 ships in that day.
