ksukent Posted May 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2004 Yep, I've tried reading up on this and I'm still confused. We are supposed to be in the Caymans from 7:00 am. until 4:00 p.m. We want to take a private excursion (catamaran trip) that requires you to meet up no later than 8:45 a.m. to catch the 9:30 excursion (there is one that leaves an hour later) Will we make it off the ship in time and is the time mentioned in port off by an hour? Please educate me. thanks.
newtocc Posted May 3, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2004 I know it may be a little confusing, but it's the same Century in the Caymans as it is in the US, hope this helps! teedee Posted May 3, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 3, 2004 We also had an early excursion in Grand Cayman. Ours was through the ship though. They had us go to Rondevouz Lounge where they gave us numbered stickers for the tenders. We were told that people with ship sponsored tours were given priority in getting the tenders, but I don't know if that's true. BurBunny Posted May 3, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 3, 2004 I researched the same question for the same reason. The short answer is that in the summer, when the Caymans are in the same time zone as Cozumel (they don't observe Daylight Savings), Century switches to local time for both Coz and GC. In the winter, when the only port not in Eastern time is Cozumel, they often don't switch time in Cozumel. Hope that helps! Amber Cruise Resource BiddingFun and BiddingHELP
ksukent Posted May 4, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted May 4, 2004 I appreciate the responses. Sounds like we just don't do any mental adjusting and plan our times in sync with the printed arrivals and departures. Sue
