BethV114 Posted July 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2012 I've been doing a bit of research for our cruise in November and it looks like swimming with/near the turtles would be something fun for our group to do in Barbados. We'll be three adults and one sturdy 3 year old. Does anyone have any recommendations on which tour would be best to take her on? I'm thinking something that is a few hours/half day to avoid DD getting bored, tired, cranky, etc. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you! aimodels Posted July 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2012 You'll find that most of the booze cruise catamarans offer the same thing and provide the same level of excellent service. Some tours are with larger groups and some are with smaller groups. The smaller groups tend to be a few dollars more, but they are a bit more relaxed and intimate. This might be a better way to go when dealing with a youngster. There are a ton of companies offering "swim with turtles" booze cruise packages. Here are a few places you can try: Silver Moon Shasa Cool Runnings Calabaza Elegance Why Not Ocean Adventures Wasn't Me Small Cats Cruises Ocean Mist Jammin' Tiami Good Times Barbados El Tigre Cruises Thriller Turtle & Shipwreck Snorkel Jolly Roger You can also check out these websites: http://barbados.org/sailtour.htm http://www.funbarbados.com/tours/ http://barbados.org/tours/barbados_sea_tours.htm Cheers, P:)
Karpkg Posted October 23, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2012 If you're still interested in a turtle/snorkeling tour I highly suggest Capt. Nick Knowles with Calypso Cruises. They came with a recommendation from Ocean Mist when their boat was unavailable during our cruise. They do small groups so you have the whole boat to yourselves. We went to three snorkeling shipwreck sites then a turtle site. Each time we were either alone or ahead of another crowded boat. Their food was delicious and plentiful, a variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, snorkeling gear and floats, even if all you want to do is jump in the water and just float and relax. Here's part of my review pertaining to that part of our cruise. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=35580692&posted=1#post35580692 Whichever snorkeling/turtle trip you take, this is a fantastic excursion to do in Barbados and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as we enjoyed ours.
