Totally Addicted Posted May 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2005 Hi! On our last cruise someone said that you can arrange to bring your motorcycle with you on your cruise?? (I don't think you take it to your stateroom! :D) Anyone taken their motorcycle?
Travelgrrl Posted May 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2005 I think this would be something like the Alaskan Highway ferry, where you can take your car or motorcycle along on your overnight "cruise". Have never heard of it on a commercial line!
Totally Addicted Posted May 12, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted May 12, 2005 I had never heard of it before either. Possibly just a rumor!! I guess I'll give Princess a call and ask.
hstrybuf Posted May 12, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2005 Sometimes groups of Harley owners will book a group cruise and take their motorcycles. I don't know exactly where they are stored, but it's on a lower deck where they can offload them when they reach a port. Other than that, I've never heard of individuals taking one along. Deb in Cali Posted May 12, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2005 So my dream a few weeks ago about parking the car on one of the lower decks wasn't so cazy after all. :D
Denisern2 Posted May 12, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2005 When I was on Royal Carib the Capt had his Harley on board with him. He was a cool Capt.
kryos Posted May 12, 2005 #7 Share Posted May 12, 2005 So my dream a few weeks ago about parking the car on one of the lower decks wasn't so cazy after all. :D I saw a sign at one of the terminals in Hawaii ... can't remember which island ... stating that to have your car taken to the main land you would have to show owner's card and a few other things. So, I would imagine it is possible to transport a car or a motorcycle ... but I'd hate to imagine what the cost would be. Seems it would be a lot cheaper to just rent a motorcycle in port? Jaxsonbrownie Posted May 12, 2005 #8 Share Posted May 12, 2005 If you go over to the section titled "Theme Cruises" ,under the heading of Special Interest Cruising , there is a thread devoted to this under "Harley" .There is a cruise on Royal caribbean that you can drive your harley right onto the ship.Yes that is correct folks! There is a hold entirely for Harleys.I believe it is a southern Caribbean route and when you get to the Islands, like St. Maarteen, you drive your bike off the ship and there are escorted rides on the Island. What a way to see the Caribbean! Seeing as how I got a new vivid black 883 Sportster Standard for Mother's Day( what a guy, huh, he drives a Dyna Wide Glide)This just may be our next cruise to do!! All the necessary info is there to know more about it.:D Jaxson

(I don't think you take it to your stateroom! :D) Anyone taken their motorcycle? We were on the Caribbean Princess in St. Maarten in January and they unloaded about 75 Harley's off of a RCCL ship docked next to us. About 30 minutes later we heard them all roar off, with a police escort. The group returned about 5 pm and they loaded the bikes back on to the ship.
