puzzums Posted July 23, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2012 Has anyone done the hike up Pacaya volcano in Guatemala? I'm just wondering how strenuous it is. We are moderately fit - did the entire Cinque Terre trail in Italy in one day last summer with no issues - and, given where we live, the altitude on the volcano will not be a problem. Also, are actual hiking boots necessary or can I do it in my Ecco touring sandals ( which is what I wore for Cinque Terre)? Thanks in advance to all responders! RainLily Posted July 23, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2012 I am also considering this excursion and interested in what people have to say about it.
pilotdane Posted July 24, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2012 I don't know how many replies you will get since you posted in the Panama section of the forum. You can also try posting your question in the Guatemala section here and hopefully get more response. And, if you do the hike make sure you take pictures and post back. It sounds like a lot of fun.
