Mele Kalikimaka ???

Is this truly the correct greeting for Christmas? Or is there something that is better for holiday greetings? Does it translate to Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays or ???

I make my own holiday cards, and would love to have the correct greeting on them, since we will be sailing around the Islands during the holidays. Plus to put on my special gifts to my sailing friends.

Thanks!!

You might wish make it, "Mele Kalikimaka me ka Hauoli Makahiki Hou."

While "makahiki" doesn't exactly translate into "New Year" (It's more like a harvest festival season) we still use it in the Hawaiian version of "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
