How to get back to the airport?

We are planning a cruise and booking our own air fare; staying the night before at a hotel and they are taking us to the ship in the morning but the question is how do we get back to the airport when we get off the ship? Any suggestions on who do we rely on?

Yes, you can buy a transfer from the ship to the airport from Carnival. We did that on our last cruise (Inspiration into Tampa) found it to be very convenient...there was a LOOONGGG cab line and we jumped right on the bus with our Carnival paperwork, which we bought beforehand ....have a great cruise

You can do this--but some ports are very cost efficient to just grab a cab and be on your merry ole way for half the price

I'd take a cab. In New Orleans, the shuttle was $13 per person. A cab was $28 for the two of us. Approximately the same price, without having to be herded into a shuttle with lots of other people. Whenever possible, take a cab.

 

Of course, this depends on what port you are at.

The Legend is arriving at Port Everglades and of course, we're leaving out of Fort Lauderdale Airport. So it is better to buy the transfer from the Carnival ship to the Airport or take our chances with a cab?

I believe you can buy your transfer right there at the shuttle. If so you can decide last minute which to do. Check Carnival's website to make sure or wait for someone else to update this thread.
