c gazzzer Posted July 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2012 Hi have booked a cruise onboard ventura and was wondering if the tipping policy is. Does the amount you pay show on your on board spends or do you pay it your self to the members of staff that you think have give you good service, many thanks Gary.... punks&tricks Posted July 28, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2012 From April of this year auto tipping has been added to your onboard account. I think it is £3.10 per day per person, which is split between the waiting staff and cabin steward. If you wish to tip individually, the auto tip can be removed at reception. Last we we tipped our waiting staff on the last night of the cruise and the last day for our cabin steward. I'm sailing with P&O again in November and will leave the auto tip in place but tip extra where I think it is appropriate.
Wadman Posted August 1, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2012 I think the two reasons why P&O have introduced automatic tipping is : - a) when we went on QM2 to NY, we were surprised by the this system and I wonder if Carnival are just making all their ships the same. b) to possibly counter all the cheapskates
