Skipper's Club in New Orleans' port

Has anyone used the Skipper's Club priority boarding in New Orleans? If so, what can you tell us about it? Where is it located? Is it worth the bother?

It's a small room inside the main building. When you enter the main door at the terminal you will see a door across the room directly in front of you. Going through that door you will see on your right a sign for the Skipper's Club near the carry-on scanners. It only took us about 30 minutes to process without priority boarding.

Thanks. I think I'll look for it just 'cuz. ;) LOL! You must have gotten lucky boarding in 30 minutes w/o priority. My daughter just went on the Sensation cruise last Saturday (just got back yesterday) and she said it was a zoo in that terminal. It took them about an hour and a half arriving at 12:30.

LOL ! I can understand the "Zoo" part. We always stay in NOLA the night before and get to the terminal between 11:00 and 11:30 to avoid that. The longest wait was for the Conquest which was about 45 minutes, half of which was spent in the "Yellow" chairs.

We did the Skipper's Club thing boarding the Conquest in March. When you arrive at the terminal, show someone your priority boarding info. They will escort you to that little room and you bypass all of the check-in lines. They also move you to the front of the security lines. You get a few dirty looks, but it saved us about ninety minutes.

Thanks, guys, for all your info. I was a little worried about finding it due to the other reports I've read on these boards about people showing up at the terminal and asking for the Skipper's Club and having no one know what they were talking about. It's my opinion that the people on the CC boards know a whole lot more than the people that work for the cruise lines. LOL! I figured if anyone knew where it was, you guys would.I guess I can endure the dirty looks, I paid for the privilege. :D

Can anyone use the Skipper's club or is it just for people who purchased a suite? How do you obtain priority boarding? Is priority boarding and a "fun pass" the same thing? Hope these aren't stupid questions...confused.gif

Thanks for the info!smile.gif

Of course they are not stupid questions!

The Skipper's Club is for those who have booked suites. Other priority boarders may be those in wheelchairs or those with certain medical problems. The "Fun Pass" is supposed to make your transition through the booking process a little quicker and I think it may have something to do with Homeland Security.

  • 3 weeks later...

we used the skippers club last December for our cruise on the conquest. We didn't arrive until about 3:30 (DH had to go to the Saint's football game) It was great though . We were dropped off at 3:30 and in our room heading out for drinks by 4. There was only one other family checking in so maybe going late was the ticket. We booked another suite for next April (easter sunday debarkation) Hope it is just
