Carnival Sunshine Deck 7 or 1?

I am about to book on the Sunshine and my choices are the Riviera deck (deck 1?) or Empress deck (Deck 7). I assume that Deck 7, being more expensive, is better/quieter...

Both decks are quiet. Usually there is less traffic on Deck 1. Deck 7 has cabins above and below and is closer to the all important Deck 9 (Lido). I'm presuming you are looking at an inside cabin and therefore I would say that a closet is a closet, there's no difference in the view and the room is (usually) the same. Many folks think that the higher you are on the boat is better. That may be true with a balcony but for an inside or a OV, not so much. Elevators work in both directions.

Agree. About the only difference between dec 1 and deck 7 may be that the higher deck could feel a little more of the ocean motion.

On deck one you are closer to deck zero where you have to get off the ship at ports. I usually like deck 1 in the middle. Except on the Dream. I am going back on the Dream but will be on a higher Deck.
