wesail7seas Posted August 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2012 Can you use American dollars in the souks of Tunis? I know that the local currency is the Tunisian dinar and that it cannot be taken out of the country,so I wouldn't want to exchange too much,or for that matter(should I really want an item)too little.Thanks. Yes, they took American money. However at one place where 10 or more of us had lunch I could not use american money so my guide paid for the meal and we paid him back. There was a spot where I later changed a few dollars into dinar. We wanted ice cream and brought back a bag of coffee from a shop in the city.
