jenale80 Posted August 3, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted August 3, 2012 Yes you can~ Thanks for quick response. Is the connection usually any good or does it depend on your location of cabin? How does it work? Is the connection open and as long as you stay on carnivals site no charges will appear on my S&S account, but the moment I search another site then a charge will automatically appear?
firefly333 Posted August 3, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2012 I had a very forward balcony and my connection was barely... said barely connected or some such on my tablet. better if you are more midship, or closer to the internet hub. Unless you pay for a package, and have a sign in .. you wouldnt be charged, since you are not signing in to get to another site... cant get there unless you pay.. including the $4.95 set up fee. kc5grw Posted August 3, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 3, 2012 I was in 8205 on the Triumph a couple of weeks ago. All the way forward, inside. I had great signal on my Macbook.
jenale80 Posted August 3, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted August 3, 2012 We have a balcony close to the FWD elevators, hope signal is good there. I suppose I am not tech savvy so still a bit confused.... I'm thinking when I sign on to wifi at my parents house I have to have their password to get onto their connection, once I'm logged in I have free range. Or since McDonalds has free WIFI, you just log on no PW needed. So is it like a mcdonalds WIFI, in the sense that I don't need a PW or anything to get the WIFI connection? then... If a person pays for the internet service do they have to enter a PW or something for every web page they are going to visit? Sorry, just trying to fully understand, this process from both ends. Flagrant Posted August 3, 2012 #7 Share Posted August 3, 2012 It's kinda dumb that the wifi would suck. It's 2012. It's how people get connected.
kc5grw Posted August 3, 2012 #8 Share Posted August 3, 2012 Every time you connect to the internet on the ship you will be asked to log in with your cabin and name unless you are accessing Carnival websites only.
