Silly Alaska clothes question

Hi! We're going on our first Alaska cruise in mid June on HAL.

Was wondering for formal nights, do you need to bring an overcoat??

 

I'm assuming it must be cold outside. Is just the suit/tux jacket warm enough?

I was only going to bring a lined casual outer jacket, but this would look out of place with a suit.

 

What do the woman do? (For my wife and MIL)

What do you Alaska cruise veterans do??

You can get everywhere you need to go on a modern ship without setting foot outdoors.

Just bring a stole or sweater as it can get cool in the dining rooms.

I found it warmer inside in Alaska than in the Caribbean - they have the heat on instead of A/C and it was much more comfortable in eveing clothes - a light wrap will do nicely.
