Boarding in Venice - what is the earliest time?

Our cruise is overnight in Venice so we have booked a private tour for the afternoon of boarding. Can anyone tell me what is the earliest time we can board? We are Elite if that is relevant.

This is true most of the time, but the real factor is when the ship is cleared for boarding. It can be delayed for a number of reasons, but they like to have all the cabins ready before allowing new passengers onboard.

 

I will find out the answer to this question next week as we will be boarding the Ruby in Venice on Wednesday. Since the hotel we are staying is nearby, we will try to board early, but if there is a big line, we will just drop off the luggage and come back later in the day.

We arrived just before 12 noon and there were lots sitting in the embarkation hall waiting to go on. We went to the platinum checkin and were sent straight on. Lots of people on board at that time.
