Ruins? No. Beaches? No. So, what then?

Recommended Posts

Here's the dilema:

We will be visiting Progreso this upcoming September, and our group of 4 have some rather picky tastes in what we like to call 'fun'.

I've been checking out the boards, looking for ideas of what we can find to do together that will keep us interested, and the only things I can come up with are a few things we do not want to do.

None of us are particularly into history, so the ruins aren't all that enticing. A lazy day on the beach just sounds kind of boring as well, and shopping... well the ladies would enjoy it, I'm sure, but not us 'significant others'. And a trip to Merida... well- that sounds OK, but what is there to do there?

Which brings me to my question:

Is there anything that someone can suggest? Even if we do not go there with a set plan in mind, it would be nice to be able to have some kin of expectation of what we may do there. I'm sure, given our attitudes of 'fun at all costs', we will enjoy ourselves there regardless of what we do, but I'd like to try and make it as easy as possible to do so.
