Well we do not have kids..but we have a mortgage and house renos to come... so budget is great.. As I mentioned all sail and sign is on Visa and when we get the bill it will be paid ... so really there is no set limit unless I run up the CC LOL which I could do but hey I am saving for aleast a 2000 bill not 5000.... LOL but if it does come back as 5000 I will not fret it was my first vacation in 18yrs I deserved it LOL

Well, we leave the husbands home and take the kids, I still haven't figured out how to go on vacation completely alone, it's either kids, husband, or all of them...some day....

When it comes to spending, we have an arrangement, I don't ask how much he spends on wine, he doesn't ask how much I spend on clothes and vacations...everybody's happy that way;)

We just spend a set amount on the cruise, usually $1000-$1200 for the both of us. This goes for things we both want like drinks, excursions and photos. But there are some things that we do seperately. She may go to the spa and I will go to the casino on the days we are at see, so it kind of balances out. If we are bumping the limit I will let the DW get what she wants and I will do without. I'm the bill payer in the family so I watch the budget closely and I don't like to go over the budget, so I will sacrifice to do that.

AWWWWWWWWW how sweet of you... I wish it worked liked that in my household.. only 2 of us but we equally pay the bills and expenses... if one goes over the other will cover but it is repaid... there is NO Breadwinner in this family we are equals and I like that... ( even tho one makes more then the other salary wise)

Let me tell you the story of my honeymoon. DH and I spent honeymoon in Aruba, we were having a great time at La Cabana and went to town on our last night on the Island. While in Orangastate we entered the big casino. I had about 50 and new DH had around 400 from his winning during the week. I was planning on him buying me some new jewels with his winning and was very pleased with his progress. Well, we go to the casino and split up for a few hours. I play the slots and get bored with the lack of winnings and pocket my last 20. I go searching for my new Dh who was sitting a black jack table. I asked how he was doing and he said loosing............ When i finally get him away from the table, I asked how much did you loose? He said All of it............. I said ok well easy come and easy go... he continues on that he does not have cab fair back to our hotel.!!!! That was the end of his control over his gambeling money.. Im in charge from that day forward.. He gets between 50 and 100 a day depending on where we are. The End:D

:D

He he...seriously though. do you all usually have a set budget or kind of just roll with the punches for shipboard purchases?

Im just curious as to how others do it.

my fiance has agreed to only "lose" 20/day in gambling and yes, we smuggle alcohol on board...so we spend maybe 50/day while ON the ship for various things.

Whatever he want's to:) He works hard for "our" money:D so he can spend what he want's, as well as myself:D

I try to stick with $100 a day spending on the ship, tips included, not including casino (I usually take cash with me for that).

That was great since all but my first cruise was by myself, then the last cruise I went on was with my g/f, now fiance. I tried to keep with the 100 a day, and split it $50 p.p. It actually worked!! :D

We were good though, we're not big excersion people, bought one set of pictures, and some minor gifts, so most of the money was spent on tips and drinks.

We're going on the Miracle for our honeymoon in April 06, so we'll splurge on that one!!
