Port Side vs. Starboard

OK, I admit I am a total newb to cruising, but I cannot figure out which side is which on the ship! Is there an easy way to tell? This is for the Magic, if it makes any difference.

When facing the front of the ship, port is to the left and starboard is to the right.

 

Also, even number cabins are on the port and odd are starboard.

If you are standing in the middle of the ship, facing the front of the ship, the left is the port side, the right is the starboard side. ;)

The only way I remember is ... Left and Port both have 4 letters.

ooo... for the Magic though, that ship has port and starboard are reversed ;)

i always thought Port side would be the side you docked off.. nope so picking ur room based on that will not work lol. i always want to be on the side we dock on to see the dock.. 1 stop we were on the dock side. 1 we were not

That's because it's Magic!

I've heard that the ship can dock on either side, thanks!
