sarabeesara Posted August 24, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2012 Going on Liberty of the Seas 12/22/12, and both ports of call offer Mayan Ruins and Snorkeling (Belize City and Cozumel). Two teenage daughters accompany my husband and I. I can't decide where to do what! Mayan ruin at Lamanai or Tulum? Barrier reef snorkeling in Belize or Xel Ha in Cozumel? Thank you for your help! Will in sunny FL Posted August 25, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2012 If you decide to snorkel in Belize, be sure to look up the site for Coral Breeze Tours & there look at their Barrier reef snorkel tour with an optional local lunch on Caye Caulker. This trip is great & Heni will porvide you with a fun snorkle tour. We do this about two times each year & think it is really tough to beat. Enjoy Belize. ppeckham Posted September 6, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2012 The Tulum tour will take the entire time in port. You'll spend about 45 minutes ferrying to the mainland. Then you get to board a bus for an hour's drive to the ruins. On the way you'll stop at a jewelry showroom to waste more time. The ruins are very nice. They don't tell you this but there is a very small beach at the ruins. You may want to wear your swimsuit. It does get quite hot there during the summer months. You'll have another hour's drive back and the ferry ride back to Cozumel. I'd opt for another tour. Altun Ha in Belize was very nice.
