Cruise to Nowhere

The one-nighters follow the Long Island coast and go out about as far as Riverhead, then turn around.

 

The two-nighters continue East to about a perpendicular dropped from Boston, then they turn around.

 

(That's what we've seen on the Nav channel onboard)

I can't say for sure, but somewhere I read that a ship on a CTN has to maintain a minimum speed of, like, 6 knots. It can't just pull out of the harbor and then stand still. So combine that with the issue about getting far enough off shore to open the casino, and that should give you some idea.
