Has anyone been in Athens on Ochi Day?

We are in Athens on October 28 which we knew was a Holiday BUT now I have read that it is even more involved than we thought and that some sites/stores etc will be closed. Even more than usual as it falls on a Sunday.

Has anyone been there on that day before? Are sites that much affected?

From last winter's program:

 

Acropolis: 08.30-15.00

Acropolis Museum: Normally (8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.)

National Museum: Normally (08:30-15:00)

 

Most stores in Plaka and Monastiraki area are open like all other days (special restaurants-taverns).

Transportations work normal (metro, buses etc).

Syntagma square after 10:00am will be very crowded!

Not so far! Just one but helpful. So we seem to be there on a very very busy day(which we knew I guess)
