bandrproductions Posted August 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2012 Hi! Has anyone taken the bus to tour around George Town? My husband and I will be visiting Cayman Islands in October on Freedom of the Seas. We were thinking about renting a car, but are considering taking the public bus to tour the island. If you did take the bus, what was your itinerary for the day? Thanks! We would like to go to the botanic gardens, pedro st. james, and spend some time on the beach on the east end, but would love to learn about how others used the bus to spend their time. bookbabe Posted August 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 29, 2012 Rent a car. While, yes, technically you can get to most of those places via bus, the schedule is somewhat flexible. There are no guarantees that there will be buses conveniently available when and where you need them. And, since you're fairly far out of George Town, you would likely be unable to flag down a taxi if the bus didn't arrive to get you back to the port on time. I just wasn't sure about renting a car considering the early departure time on FOS. If we get an early start though, we should be fine.
