hennypenny69 Posted August 31, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2012 Is it usual for MSC to book you on a Gatwick to Genoa flight on the way there and Nice to Gatwick on the way home? thanks
canny_cruiser Posted September 1, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2012 Yes. There's only the one direct flight a day to/from LGW so they use Nice and Milan too. It means a coouple of hours by bus but if you have to spend any time at the airport, Nice & Milan are better. Genoa airport is a bit of a hole. hennypenny69 Posted September 2, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted September 2, 2012 Thank you for replying - we booked the cruise last Friday and in the confirmation we were flying to and from Genoa. On Saturday morning I received another confirmation saying we were flying to Genoa and back from Nice. We were a bit miffed as we were told Genoa originally and now are on a much later flight (we have a four hour drive from Gatwick to our home). However we feel a bit happier if Nice is a nicer airport as we think we are going to be there for a few hours! thanks again for your reply. canny_cruiser Posted September 4, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2012 Nice airport is right on the edge of the city, at the western end of the Promenade des Anglais. If you have time & can get rid of your luggage, you can easily take a bus into the centre. There is a dedicated airport one but the regular service bus doesn't take much longer and is much cheaper. AmoMondo Posted September 4, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2012 Should get some pretty scenic views on the drive over to Nice too.
