Has anyone done this cruise with a two day stopover in Bangkok and one day in Ho Chi Minn City. What are the best excursions to do and is it best to book on board, on line before leaving home or find a tour at the port.

We have cruised before with Princess and P & O, but not Royal Caribbean.

Any other info about Voyager of the Seas would be great. We are going Freemantle to Singapore - 14 days.

I am about to book this cruise:) In Thailand it is docked about 25kms from pattaya, its a vibrant city and quite big, plenty to do there and good shopping, be a where though that pattaya is the sex capitol of Thailand with many expats walking around with younger Thai women! "Walking street" in Pattaya is the main red light street but very sedate in the daytime with plenty of tailors, clothing shops and some Thai boxing bars and lots of cheap knock off goods.Pattaya beaches are not the best but they do have jet skis.

Pattaya is a "not to miss place" and a cab would be not too expensive from the port.

Bangkok is fantastic but really hard to do in one or two days. If we do this cruise I will organize our own transport to Bangkok from Perth.

If you want to see a bit of Bangkok from the street view and not a coach window you would be better off staying the night in a hotel.

Bangkok has a sky train a bit like Sydney's monorail that will stop you at most tourist spots.

A longtail boat is a well worth while experience through Bangkok maze of canals

Not sure if RCI are doing a tour to the floating markets but its a tourist trap,so many boats on a small canal lol and hardly a real floating market these days.

If you want some ideas go to sawadee dot com its a Thai tourism portal and the best. Ignore the hotels and click on the pick of Pattaya and Bangkok at the bottom of the page for plenty of info.

Den.

Thanks. You have been a big help. Pattaya sounds as if you could spend the two days there. Would still consider a bus trip to Bangkok with free time just to say we've been there. That site sawadee.com is very good and well worth a look at for anyone else reading this. Looking forward to the trip and starting to count down the months now.
