Birthday Cake question, not wanting to do the MDR.

We are leaving on the Elation Sept 17. We have twins that will be turning 8 on the 18th. 2nd day on the ship. I am wanting to order a customized birthday cake, one that is kid friendly, ship bright colors for my boy / girl twins. However, I wasn't wanting to do the MDR, wanted a more relaxed enviroment. Grandma and Aunt are going but have different table and time for dinner. Friends going too, but we don't all plan to eat together. So is there anyway to get this cake sent to my room so we can take it up to the Lido deck and invite our friends and family? I contacted the Bon Voyage department and was told it had to go to the MDR. I know I can order it while on board, but will they have time to customize me a cake "kid friendly" and have it ready by the next afternoon. I really want to celebrate on their actual birthday.

Thanks in advance,

Sheila

That's odd, because I ordered last week from Bon Voyage and they said we could have it anywhere we wanted. The lady told me the "must be in the mdr" thing is a myth.

We are having it delivered to the cabin during embarkation for my daughter...

They recently changed the rules- cakes ordered on-line are only delivered to MDR. If you order over the Phone they will be delivered to either Cabin or MDR as you wish.

This is not true....

I ordered online.... and then read that on CC ( exactly what you just said ) so I called Bon Voyage.. they confirmed my online order was set for embarkation in our cabin.

The lady actually told me not to believe everything I read on CC LOL.

Anyway.. I think we kinda drifted off your point... the bon voyage cakes you can have in the cabin... but I have no idea about custom cakes.. .. I think it's a great idea..I hope it works out how you want it !!!!

When you speak to Bon Voyage, ask them about the bright kid friendly cakes. To be honest, I have never seen them offered anywhere online or on board. You might want to get a plain cake and get cake decorations from a craft store that you can put on yourself to make it more child appropriate.
