Port of NOLA during Mardi Gras

We will be leaving NOLA on February 10 during Mardi Gras. (NCL Star) We will stay in Hammond on the 9th and drive over the Causeway on the morning of the 10th. We've been to NOLA several times but don't know what to expect with the traffic. Any ideas, suggestions, things to avoid etc....? My guess is driving directly to the port will not be a problem. We plan to park at the port and walk to the French Quarter after we drop off our luggage at the terminal. We are okay with getting on the ship later in the day. Thank you! :)

You should not have problems. There are lots of parades that day but they start Uptown at 11:00, and won't be downtown until early afternoon.

Stay on the Expressway and you will drive over the parade route to the terminal. Listen to WWL 870 am for traffic reports.
