Anytime dining for everyone. There is no early/late seating.

In addition to the Main Dining Rooms, Buffet, Room Service, and 24/7 restaurant, there are also several surcharge restaurants available that may require reservations.

Freestyle dining is the same as land based restaurants. You walk to whichever main diningroom you choose during open hours (posted in your dailies), go to the host/hostess and asked to be seated. You will be seated at a table suited for the number in your party. Or make reservations at a specialty, additional pay restaurant during the hours they are open (again posted in your dailies) go to the host/hostess give your name and again be seated at a table suited for the number in your party. Or another option is go to the light meal restaurant (24 hr dining venue) for some wings as your apetizer, walk to one of the main dining rooms for your entree and grab some ice cream from the buffet for desert.

Freestyle cruising allows you numerous options to tailor your cruising vacation the way you want it.

I have only cruised once with NCL before and based on that experience; the dining times and the dining dress code (which are relaxed compared to other lines) are about the only main differences between NCL and the other two cruise lines that I have been on (Princess and RCI). Princess ships also offers an 'Anytime' dinning option which frees you from a dinner set-time (traditional) but only to one of the two main dining rooms.

Other than those, I feel that my cruising experience in other lines have had the same levels of 'freeness' for everything else, compared to NCL freestyle cruising.
