Glory here we come

I did it!! I just booked our next cruise on Glory 04-29-06 to East Carib. I am so excited. 2 weeks of reading and absorbing tons of info on this forum to make my choice, driving my husband crazy. I called Carlos at Carnival and have a balcony guarantee. He PROMISED me there would be no obstruction. I am a little worried, my sis had a life boat at her balcony last year. Has anyone had any experience with this. This is just our 2nd cruise. Sensation 03-04. Now I have to read instructions to put the countdown clock on here. Thanks for all the useful info. I LOVE this place!!

Isn't great to have a place to go to help you with decisions?! We have never sailed Carnival and took to the Carnival forum to make our decision also. We will be sailing the Glory in late July due to the many different opinions offered by people here. And this cruise cannot come soon enough!

Awesome! I just got off Glory Saturday :( I miss the ship already. I'm thinking of a cruise next May again either on the Glory or Valor. I would like to do the Eastern Caribbean, but I REALLY want to do Belize again. So, I think I'd end up doing a Western again (most likely Valor).

Jenna wrote that she would like to go back to Belize. Was there a special reason? We went there last year but didn't get to see much because we did the tubing trip and it took all of our time. Would appreciate information as to what else we missed. Thanks.

Glory will no longer be sailing to Progresso as of June 18th, 2005. There will an extra sea day. Too bad. I am booked for 9/10/05 Glory sailing and heard there was some excellent shopping and tours at that port.

I guess the Progresso thing is a matter of opinion. We stopped in Progresso on our last cruise on the Costa Mediterranea. To be honest, it was our least favorite port in our 9 cruises. Those who went on some of the longer shore trips had mixed opinions. We went into the small town and did not find anything we would ever want to see again. But, as I said, that is just our opinion. The pier is a few miles out and you go into town by free buses. There are a lot of newer shops on the pier itself but we found no real bargains. I hate to see anyone disappointed, but there have been a lot of complaints on this board regarding the constant weather (wind) related problems at this port causing some delays in departure. Hope Carnival can arrange something that will please most. As for me..I would love the extra time at sea!

I went snorkeling in Belize. It was great. IMO, out of all of the stops Glory had, Belize had the best water/prettiest water. I talked to several people on the ship, who sometimes do land based vacations, and they've said Belize will be their next stop because there's so many adventurous things to do! I think if I was on one of their all-inclusive resorts, I'd be VERY happy. It's something my mom & I discussed tonight at dinner. However, I'm sure it's much more expensive to do that!

We sailed on the Glory 4/9 and absolutely loved her! We also loved sailing out of Port Canaveral as well. We were on upper deck cabin 6284 near the forward elevators and the location was perfect. We thought the service, ship and crew were outstanding and have been on several cruises on Carnival. We chose this ship and itinerary because of the four stops but were not pleased with Progresso but that is our opinion and should have done a ship sponsored tour. We did Goff's Caye snorkeling in Belize. Would try the River Wallace and Al Tun? excursion next time. Sounds like a good one especially if you like nature, etc. Enjoy!
