Train from Florence to Venice w/scooter?

We are renting a car and going to Tuscany a few days before we board our ship in Venice. I will have my mobility scooter with me, but I can walk. I'm concerned about whether there is a luggage compartment to store my scooter on the train from Florence to Venice. Does anyone have experience with this? When we reach Venice would we take a cab to the port? Is it far? Thanks.
