Hi

we are going to Miami in December a pre Crusie stay and 2 days after..

we have 3 kids and have looked up a few places to take the kids?

Never been to Miami either..

Zoo

Sea-aquarium

Can anyone else suggest things that are worth while to do w/kids? I should say they are 3 teens....15, 15, & 13

also can any tell me from the sea aquarium to the zoo what the distance is? as we have free shuttle to the sea aquarium and back but not the zoo..

Thanks so much

CC

It's about a 30-40 minute drive from the Seaquarium to Metrozoo. If you're going down to Metrozoo I would recommend renting a car as a taxi would be more expensive.

Teens that age though LOVE South Beach! The beach is awesome, and they would also love the trendy shops along Collins and Washington Avenues. Ocean Drive is full of sidewalk cafes and has some of the best "people watching" on the planet!

Crandon Park is fine, but come on... It's not the kids who have a "problem" with toplessness, it's the parents!

The kids couldn't care less, they're more interested in playing in the sand & water, and if your "kids" are teens, then trust me, they've seen it all already!

where to stay for pre-cruise in miami? teens and 3 year old....

If you're only staying one night you would probably prefer downtown Miami...

JW Marriott... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/miajw

Intercontinental... http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ic/1/en/hd/miaha?irs=null

Biscayne Bay Marriott... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/miabb

Hyatt Regency... http://miamiregency.hyatt.com/property/index.jhtml

If you're staying more than one night you would probably prefer the action and amenities of South Beach...

Loews South Beach... http://www.loewshotels.com/hotels/miamibeach/default.asp

South Beach Marriott... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/MIAMB

Courtyard South Beach... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/MIACB

There are few if none topless women walking around south beach. (I live here). If they do go topless, they are lying on their stomachs or are in the water. Unless you are going to a nude beach, which they will have signs, I would not worry.

The only thing to fear at South Beach are the people who litter. And let me tell you almost EVERYONE litters here. They have no problem with it. I think it is gross, disrespectful and ignorant to litter, but most people do.

Other fun things to do in Miami are Coral Castle, Venetian Pool (in Coral Cables), or Parrot Jungle.

Crandon Park Beach is another place our family enjoyed. Too many topless at South beach for our kids. Crandon Park Beach is one of the top 10 beaches in the nation.
