Live from the Legend

We are enjoying the Legend once again on our Mediterranean Isles cruise. The weather has been extremely windy with the Sirocco wind blowing from the Sahara so sea conditions are interesting! Plenty of seasickness tablets about! We had to miss Bonifacio, Corsica because we could not dock or tender, so that was disappointing. Today we are in Trapani, Sicily and have been to the medieval village of Erice on the Seabourn excursion.

Food is excellent and the complimentary wines are much improved from last year's selection. Wish we could say the same about the champagne!

Service has been patchy at the Sky bar with someone who doesn't really know how to make drinks properly and there has been no champagne laden waiter at sailaway. Service in the Verandah cafe and the Restaurant is excellent. Little instances of cost cutting about but no real complaints. Some lovely people on board, mainly American, British and Australian. We are enjoying making new friends.

Will post again as it is now time to sail off to Gozo. Will be taking another Bonine soon, I think!

We are going to be sailing on the Legend on 25th October out of Rome and end up in Monte Carlo. We have not sailed the Med this late before so we are worried about the rough seas. This is also our first time on one of the smaller ships. Do keep us posted!

We have sailed on the little ladies many times in the fall and winter in the Med. We have always enjoyed it. On those occasions when the Sea was a bit on the rough side..it would have been on the large ladies as well. The small ships take it well. Please do not worry....just enjoy. If you do tend toward seasickness...wear a patch just in case. ;)

Update from Valletta, Malta. We visited Trapani, Sicily yesterday and went to Erice. Very beautiful medieval town with spectacular views.

Today we visited Gozo for the morning. The tender trips were interesting white knuckle rides! Then moved to Malta where we overnight. Had the deck barbecue this evening and the Rock the Boat Show. The entertainment staff are superb. Don't know what Valletta thought of the loud music til 11pm!

Tomorrow we will visit Mdina and then walk around Valletta. All that in 31 deg C and high humidity!
