Coastal trip from LA-Van, May...weather and sea conditions

I was wondering if anyone may have an idea of the weather and sea conditions, as we will be cruising from LA to Vancouver in the 1st week of May 2004.

We have gone from Van to LA in Sept but never this time of the year and against the current.

We took the LA to Vancouver cruise during the second week of May last year. The weather was sunny, but cool and breezy – light jacket needed on deck.

Others have reported rough seas during this time of year northbound north of San Francisco, but it was very smooth on our cruise.
